The video and article were very interesting if not overly dramatic. The main problem I see is technology progressing faster than the schools can cope with. The most advanced tool in my class is a document camera team with half a chalk board and half a white board.
To quote Gordon Boettcher, "NO WHINING!" Don't worry, rookie, you'll get caught up with technology soon enough. 8^)
ReplyDeleteThe main thing to remember is that the kids are native to these tools and have learned to use them naturally. As we old-timers become more adept with the technology and how to use it effectively in the classroom, students will learn to use their phones, ipods, ipads, and whatever else they have access to as a learning device, not just a social device.
